BSc Nautical Studies (Deck Officer)

Celestial and coastal navigation, radar and ECDIS, cargo handling, stability, maritime law, meteorology and safety. Awards BSc + STCW Certificate of Competency as Navigational Watchkeeping Officer (Unlimited), the path to Chief Mate and Master. 4 years: 3 at IMCO + 12 months sea training. Entry: Grade 12 with English & Maths; medically fit, min. height 140 cm.

BSc Marine Engineering

Operate, maintain and repair ship machinery: engines, turbines, boilers, automation and electro-technology. Awards BSc + STCW Certificate of Competency as Engineering Watchkeeping Officer (Unlimited), the path to 2nd and Chief Engineer. 4 years: 3 at IMCO + 12 months sea training. Entry: Grade 12 with English, Maths, Physics & Chemistry; medically fit, min. height 140 cm.

The same marine engineering pathway in a shorter format. Awards Diploma + STCW Certificate of Competency EWKO (Unlimited). 3 years: 2 at IMCO + 12 months sea training. Entry: Grade 12 with English, Maths, Physics & Chemistry; medically fit, min. height 140 cm.

Fast-Track: Navigational Watchkeeping Officer (OiC NWKO)

For science graduates moving into a seagoing career. 1 year at IMCO + 12 months sea training + 4-month NWKO course. Awards STCW Certificate of Competency NWKO (Unlimited). Entry: Diploma/BSc in Physics, Chemistry or Maths, Basic STCW certificates and a Seafarer's ID (CDC).

Fast-Track: Engineering Watchkeeping Officer (OiC EWKO)

For engineering graduates moving into a seagoing career. 1 year at IMCO + 12 months sea training + 4-month EWKO course. Awards STCW Certificate of Competency EWKO (Unlimited). Entry: Diploma/BEng/BTech in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Basic STCW certificates and a Seafarer's ID (CDC).

BSc Logistics and Transport Management

Supply chain, procurement, freight forwarding, port and transport operations, taught with simulators and industry internships. Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT, UK). 4 years at IMCO. Entry: Grade 12 with English & Maths. Careers: freight forwarder, shipping agent, port operator, procurement and transport manager.

Bachelor of Engineering in Process Engineering

Design, operate and optimise chemical, petrochemical and industrial process plants, covering control engineering, safety and environmental management. 4 years at IMCO. Entry: Grade 12 with English, Maths, Physics & Chemistry. Careers: process engineer, plant operator, safety engineer.

Diploma in Logistics and Transport Management

A practical 2-year route into logistics, shipping, port and freight operations. Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT, UK). Entry: Grade 12 with English & Maths.

Diploma in Process Engineering

A 2-year route into plant operations in the chemical, petrochemical and process industries. Entry: Grade 12 with English, Maths, Physics & Chemistry.

Fast-Track: Electro-Technical Officer (ETO)

For electrical and electro-mechanical graduates. ETOs run a ship's electrical, electronic and control systems. 7.5 months at IMCO + 12 months sea training (arranged by the student). Awards STCW Certificate of Competency as ETO. Entry: Diploma/BEng/BTech in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Basic STCW certificates and a Seafarer's ID (CDC).

Click Apply Through CSCS and complete the short form. Our team will email you the current fees, intake dates and next steps. Questions? Write to imco@cscsinternational.africa.

Documents you will need: Grade 12 (KCSE) certificate and transcript, Grade 11 results and a valid passport. We guide you through document attestation, the IMCO placement test, admission and your student visa. IMCO offers on-campus housing for male students and helps female students find housing nearby.

Admission is confirmed only after approval by Omani authorities, and sea-training berths depend on availability.
