A Few Words About Who we are
When we started CSCS International Manning, our sole intention was to help Africans bring a safe, reliable recruitment service to the world, for people who didn't know how to find the reliable manpower they needed. Today we operate in Mauritius, Kenya and Madagascar, and recruit from Rwanda, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
Our Leadership
CSCS International Manning is led by people with hands-on experience in human resources and the maritime industry.
Chandra Seepaul, Founder and CEO
Specialises in cruise recruitment. Since founding CSCS International Manning in Mauritius in 2003, Chandra has recruited and placed African crew with international principals, and leads the company's Mauritius office.
James Karigithu, Country Director
A human resource specialist who leads CSCS operations in Kenya, our dedicated crew pools for principals and our cadet pipeline with JKUAT, TUM and MKU.
Capt. Jøran Nøstvik, Director of CSCS Noatun
Supports the CSCS team, with experience working with commercial shipowners. He served for more than 20 years in the Norwegian Navy and Coast Guard, ran the Norwegian Shipowners' Association's cadet programme in the Philippines (2013–2017) and redesigned crew screening and assessment at AboJeb (2017–2020).
Capt. Michael Mungai, Director of Education and Training
A Master Mariner with Kenyan Navy and commercial shipping experience, and more than 20 years in maritime safety, security and education. He spent 14 years with the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA), rising to Port State Control Officer, and has lectured at Warsash Maritime School and Sharjah Maritime Academy.
Carl Martin Faannessen, Director of CSCS Noatun
Leads CSCS Noatun, our joint venture with Noatun Maritime, where he is CEO. He was previously Managing Director of AboJeb for five years, after 14 years at Maersk and roles at Odfjell Chemical Tankers and SN Power.
International Recruitment and Placement
Founded in March 2003 in Mauritius, CSCS International Manning operates in Mauritius, Kenya and Madagascar, and recruits from Rwanda, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. In Kenya we are licensed by the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) to provide seafarer recruitment and placement services under the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (Regulation 1.4) and are ISO 9001-certified by Bureau Veritas. We recruit Ratings and Officers for Bulk Cargo, Containerised Cargo and Tankers, and hospitality crew for cruise lines, for principal clients including Royal Caribbean Group, Carnival and BW Epic Kosan. From Mauritius we also offer foreign seasonal jobs in Europe and payroll services. For each principal client we build and develop a dedicated pool of ready crew.
